Recently I received the following message on my phone from a younger friend, “nps idk yet cu l8tr”. After staring at it for a minute or two, a couple of worrying thoughts came to mind. The first and more obvious one was, ‘how do I reply to that’; the second and more depressing one was, ‘when did I get this old!’
Being “slightly” over forty, I didn’t grow up with mobile phones, instant messaging and the like. Space Invaders was about as advanced as technology had become by the time I left school. I was taught to write using complete words, on paper. We used to send letters, in the post, and everything was just a little… slower!
Of course the world has moved on, new gadgets have made our communications more instantaneous, and so our good old written English became needlessly clunky in the hands of thirteen year old text wizards. Instant communication requires speed and English just wasn’t delivering it. Necessity, being the mother of invention demanded we evolve this new and frightening language of texting.
Unfortunately for me, it wasn’t “we” who created texting language, it was “them”. So now, in a strange role reversal, it’s not me that needs to teach my kids, it’s them that need to teach me. With that in mind, here’s a primer for all us “old people” to some of the some common words in the texting vocabulary, so I’m told.

Windows 7 32-bit with full 4 GB or 8 GB RAM support

In the Internet often haunts the statement a 32-bit operating system can technically only managed a maximum of 4 GB of RAM. This is wrong and Microsoft is even evidence itself, that with the special version of "Windows Server 2003 Datacenter Edition" it worked:

The kernel of the 32-bit version of Windows 7 has only a lock, which prevents access to more memory. More dramatically is this lock in the 32-bit version of Windows 7 Starter Edition: There the prohibition is much more rigorous and it only allows access to 2 GB of RAM:

In the 32-bit version of Windows 7 from 4 GB usually only 3.25 -3.5 GB of RAM are usable:

In general many people believe this "not usable" RAM
is occupied by the graphic card RAM:

The German computer magazine c't has made a test
with different graphic cards (c't 23/2009, page 165):

These results are completely incomprehensible. Why is with no video card (0 MB, connection via Remote Desktop) 512 MB RAM blocked? Why blocked a graphic card with 128 MB also 512 MB RAM – and not 128 MB? And why blocked a graphic card with 1024 MB "only" 750 MB?
The Russian Programmers Group "staforce" has written a small program witch removes the lock in the kernel of the 32-bit version of Windows 7. "ICE Technologie" has translate this program into English. The program automatically makes a copy of the kernel file "ntkrnlpa.exe" and saves the copy as separate file "ntkrlICE.exe". Then the program removes the lock in the copied file "ntkrlICE.exe" and integrates the new kernel file as an extra boot menu entry in the Windows 7 boot menu. So then you have the option to start Windows 7 either as usual with the original kernel file "ntkrnlpa.exe" or with the modified kernel file "ntkrlICE.exe".

With such a patched (modified) kernel the 32 bit version of Windows 7
suddenly can use almost the entire 4 GB of RAM:

For these screen shots a 32 MB onboard graphic card is used. So 32 MB is really "hardware reserved". The rest of 2 MB is reserved for I/O ports (USB port, serial-, parallel port, etc.).

And even 8 GB of RAM are now no longer a problem.
The original kernel still reports that 4898 MB are "Hardware Reserved" - what hardware?

The patched kernel then reports correct that only 34 MB is "Hardware Reserved":

The RAM limit of the 32-bit version of Windows 7 is therefore 64 GB - like Microsoft describes for the "Windows Server 2003 Datacenter Edition" (see above). More extensive details - still from Vista-times - see here by Geoff Chappell.

The patch

The small program "4GB-RAMPatch.exe" patches the kernel and removes the kernel lock:

The program makes automatically a copy of the kernel file, then removes the lock and integrates the new kernel file as an extra boot menu entry in the Windows 7 boot menu. So then you have the option to start Windows 7, either as usual with the original kernel file or with the modified kernel file.

The patch program does not need to install - it runs as a "stand-alone" program; e.g. directly from a USB stick. And it installs no background program.
What the patch is doing you can read here in German language or here in machine translation. So you also can do it manually.
The patch has two small but treatable side effects:

Because Windows 7 observed the changes the kernel can not boot normally. For the Microsoft programmers who often times work with patched kernel Microsoft has built in a boot parameter - an additional switch: "testsigning = Yes"). So they can test their patched kernels. With this switch the patched kernel can start easily.
But this switch leads to the fact that on the desktop background, lower right corner (above the clock) a hint ("Watermark") is displayed:

To remove this "watermark" you can use the button "Remove Watermark":

Then you should reboot.

To change the boot menu you can start the Windows 7 program "msconfig":

On the tab "Boot" you can specify:

Which boot menu entry to be booted by default (if the user does not interact).
How long should the Start menu appear.
And you can delete one or the other boot menu entry.

However, you should not remove the boot menu entry for the original kernel. Because there are some very few programs that do not get along with as much RAM as the kernel patch makes available. Then you can always reboot the original kernel.
To remove the patch you only need remove the start Menu entry with "msconfig" (you can start the program "msconfig" when you enter in the search box in the start menu "msconfig"). The boot menu then will no longer appear. Because as long as only one menu item is available, no boot menu appears. The copied, patched kernel file "ntkrlICE.exe" in the folder "C:\Windows\system32" can also be safely deleted.

In a Command Prompt with admin rights you can see with the command
"bcdedit" the new boot menu entry in detail:

The text that appears in the boot menu can be found under "description".
"testsigning = Yes" allows the patched kernel to start despite modification.
The copied and modified kernel is called "ntkrlICE.exe".
With "pae = ForceEnable" the address extension for the RAM is activated.

Another option use SUPERSPEED RAMDISK to enabled 4GB Ram on Windows 7 32bit.

Kill All Not Responding Programs On The Fly Using A Simple Shortcut

"This program is not responding" is a very common error message which you get in Windows. Many times we find a program not responding and we have to perform an End Task operation on it using Task Manager.
Wouldn't it be great if we have a shortcut on Desktop or in Taskbar which can automatically kill all not responding programs upon execution? Just double-click on the shortcut and it'll End Task/kill all not responding programs.
Today we'll tell you how to create a simple shortcut which kills all not responding programs automatically so you don't need to open Task Manager and select the program and perform End Task on it.
Following are the simple steps to follow:
1. Right-click on Desktop and select "New -> Shortcut":

Here are some steps you could follow in order to find hacked servers with phpshell backdoors hosted in it , and to upload Rapidleech script on the hacked servers by yourself.

1.finding phpshell backdoors
There are many kinds of phpshells out there , and what we are gonna do is to find them using some Google Dorks . Based on my own experiences, the most powerful google dork syntax to find those phpshells is by using “allintext” syntax , which will simply grab any sites with your desired text on its content. If you’ve been familiar enough with phpshells , you must have known what ’s the main characteristic on phpshells themselves , you should know what kind of texts should be appeared on phpshells . Just let’s go straight to the dork :

2.Upload the script!
Just go get yourself rapidleech script , which can be downloaded on www.rapidleech.com. You’ll get it downloaded as *.zip or *.rar files. Since most of phpshells hosted in hacked *nix servers , it means you can’t extract *.zip/*rar there. The recognized compressed archive filetype in *nix should be *.tar , *.tar.gz or *.tar.bz2. So , all you have to do is extract the *.zip/*.rar files , and then convert it back to *.tar files .If you don’t know how to do it , just go get yourself a guide to Linux command lines ..LOL
After you get yourself the rapidleech.tar file , now you should explore the phpshells you just already got. In order to get your script uploaded , you must find any directory with 777 permissions on it (as long as it’s still under webserver’s directory) , which means it enables you to read,write, and execute scripts on it. You can find them by using the linux command :
find / -type d -perm 777
Then you’ll get the list of any writable directories! And then change your current working directory to the directory with 777 permission on it(eg. /var/wwwroot/hacked.com/hacked_dir/). And then upload your rapidleech.tar ! and get it extracted !
Now you could access your rapidleech on www.hacked.com/hacked_dir/ . It’s just that simple.

Google Dork , Rapidleech : How to find RapidLeech over the net

It must be a pain in the Ass , when you’re dealing with RapidShare Download Links , which are temporary . It means that once you pause the downloading process, you could never continue the downloading process from the same link anymore , and all you have to do is fetching the new download link again (which requires you to wait for several minute until you get the download link , which is mainly caused by rapidshare country-slots filter).

All the things you need to solve this problem is , RapidLeech. Here are some example cases that ever happened to me :

I found Southpark (the movie) ’s rapidshare download links , which are separated by 7 parts of rar files.
I knew it’s impossible to do direct download to those 7 files in the same time.
Then i realized that all i have to do is to find 7 different servers(different ip addresses) that host RapidLeech script inside each of them. Those 7 RapidLeechers will be used to fetch the rapidhare files , before i download them to my real local box.

How To Make A Dropdown List Label Menu

A drop-down list is a user interface control GUI element, similar to a list box, which allows the user to choose one value from a list. When a drop-down list is inactive, it displays a single value. When activated, it displays (drops down) a list of values, from which the user may select one. When the user selects a new value, the control reverts to its inactive state, displaying the selected value (Wikipedia). In this case we will make a Label List.

This simple tricks is based on changing the Label Gadget settings. So the first step of course, you must already have to use or instal the Label Gadget in your blog.
If you have not install yet, then: Go to your Dashboard >> Layout >> Add a Gadget >> Choose Label and name it, ex: Blogger New Tips Label.
Note: Please choose/click the List Display

The next step is to change the display setting of our Label, by modidying the HTML Label Code.
Go to Layout >> Edit HTML >> and check your Expand Widget Template (Don't forget to backup your template first).
Search and find your Label codes, the easiest way is to find your "Label name", use ctrl+F to find it (Blogger New Tips Label).

In this article, we learn how to create sticky posts or have an article permanently displayed on your Home page and above the Blog Posts. This is useful if you want readers to see a particular post, message, announcement or text whenever they visit the site. It could be an earlier popular post. In all Blog platforms, new posts are always shown first and older posts are archived. With a simple trick, we can have this earlier post remain on the Home page, above all the new posts.

Create a Page Element Method

One recommended way to have a piece of writing permanently on top of the Blog Posts is to work it into the template by creating a Page Element.

1. Follow our article in Add Page Element to Blogger Header and Blog Posts. Enable the “Add a Page Element” function in the Blog Posts and if you'd like, the space between the Header and the Blog Posts. This is an interesting location, because it is right after the Header and yet does not follow the style settings of the Header. For people who want to insert a Horizontal Menu and Navigation Bar, this might be an ideal location. Once you have done that, you should be able to add new elements above the Blog Posts or right underneath the Header.

2. The second step is to create the Post. Login, go to “Posting” and create a New Post under the “Compose” mode. If you don't see a “Compose” mode, go to Settings -> Basic and at the bottom, to the question “Show Compose Mode for all your blogs?” choose “Yes” and save the settings. Type your Post contents, upload your pictures, create your links, etc. While you don't have to insert the labels, put in the Title of the article within the contents. Make the title large, bold or change the font color. Preview the post and if you are satisfied with it, you can save the draft Post and go to the next step. [Note: To check the Post Title font-size and color code settings, go to Template -> Edit HTML and look for .post h3{ You would be able to see the font-size, font-weight (if any) and color. Apply the same style to the Title that you have typed in the contents of your draft Post.]

3. Click to view the post under the “Edit HTML” mode.

4. There are some things you must do. If in your Settings -> Formatting -> Convert line breaks you have chosen “Yes”, whenever you press the “Enter” or “Return” key on your keyboard, the Post Editor will convert that into the HTML tag <br/>. We must now enter these tags into the HTML of the draft Post. Go to your draft Post under the “Edit HTML” mode.

Example 1:

At the places where you press an “Enter” key to create a line break, add the HTML tags as follows:-

Between each new paragraph, add this HTML tag:-

5. Once these are added to the Post, we can now block copy the entire chunk of the draft Post HTML code. Go to Template -> Page Elements -> Add a Page Element in the Blog Posts section and choose “HTML/JavaScript”. Paste the entire draft Post HTML code and save. View your Home page, and you will see the Sticky Post permanently displayed above the Blog Posts.

6. Finally, we can delete the draft Post. If you have uploaded pictures, you will be asked whether you want the pictures deleted. Since you are using these pictures in your Sticky Post, uncheck the box to keep the pictures in your Picasa Web Album.

Change the Post Date Method

When you are creating a new post, you can see at the bottom left of the Post Editor a “Post Options” link. When you click that, you will be able to amend the “Post time and date.” If you want the post to be always on top of all the other new posts, change this date to a future date like the year 2015. Once the post is published, the post, being the latest post in the reverse chronological date order, will always appear on the Home page as the first post.

Important Notes:

i) In the new Blogger platform, the URL of Posts follow the month and year that are specified in the “Post month and date” option. In our example, we specified the month as August and the year as 2015. The Post URL will be http://BLOG URL/2015/08/TITLE.html. This URL will remain unchanged even if you edit the post and alter the date. Good for us. It means that we can change the date of an earlier post without affecting the backlinks to that post. People who linked to that URL will not have to change the link address.

ii) You can therefore alter an existing post in the same manner. Edit the Post. Change the year to a much later year and the post will always appear on your Home page.

iii) The other point to note is that when the year 2015 arrives, you may have to alter the post date yet again to another later date. Who knows, perhaps by then you may not want that post to appear on your Home Page anymore.

iv) If you want a recent post to be stored somewhere at the end of your archive list, and never to appear in the list of recent posts, use the same method but change the date to an earlier date, a year like 1950.

How to Remove Label Post Count

Labels are used to organized your blog posts so that your blog will look neat and tidy. Moreover, readers will be able to read your posts which they are interested in. By default, when you add the 'Label' widget in blogger, it will provide a post count beside it.

Sometimes, you might feel disheartening when you see one of you label's post count is very low while others are on average. If you don't want to see the count, you must edit the template code.

Here's the way to remove it. (I assume that you already have a label on your blog)

1. Before editing the template code, please remember to save a copy of your current template in case you make a mistake. To back up your template, go to 'Layout', then 'Edit HTML' and click on the 'Download full template' link.

2. Next, check the 'Expand widgets Template' box.

3. Search the code data:label.count/ by using Ctrl+F .

4. Your browser will bring you to the exact location and automatically highlight the code.

5. Simply delete the entire line to remove the label post count.

6. Preview your template first. If you are satisfied, save your template and you are done.

Speed Up Disk Intensive Applications with a RAM Drive

If your computer has some RAM to spare, RAM drives are perfect for increasing the performance of any application that must read and write a lot of data. Using a special kernel mode driver along with system memory, a temporary RAM drive can be created that is significantly faster than traditional storage. Spindle based hard drives found in almost every computer have a maximum read and write speed of around 100 MB per second. The performances of RAM drives are only limited by the speed of the memory and chipset. That results in read and writes speeds well above 1 GB per second and on high end systems much faster.
There are a lot of different ways to create a RAM drive. The method that I’m going to show you will use a free utility called RAMDisk that will allow you to create a RAM drive up to 4GB (assuming you have more than 4GB of RAM in your PC).
First, download and install the latest version of Dataram RAMDisk.
Then click on the Start Button and launch the RAMDisk Configuration Utility

On the Settings tab specify the Disk Size and the partition type.

Then click Start RAMDisk and your drive will be ready for use in Windows Explorer listed next to the other storage devices on your computer.
The main problem with RAM drives is the non-persistent nature of the disk. Turn off your computer and the contents of the RAM drive will be gone forever. The Dataram RAMDisk utility has a helpful feature that will allow you to save the state of your RAM drive upon shutting down and loading an image of it, from a file on your hard drive, on startup to restore any data. You can find these settings on the Load and Save tab of the RAMDisk Configuration Utility.

Now that you have your RAM drive setup and running try moving the Internet Explorer Temporary Internet files to speed up web browsing or redirect any other disk intensive application to use the RAM drive.

Make Your Windows 7 Super Fast

This is the 3rd tutorial of our "Master Tutorial" series. We have already posted 2 other tutorials for Windows XP and Windows Vista in past and now its turn of Windows 7.
Although Windows 7 is already very fast and reliable but this tutorial will help you in getting the max performance out of your system.
So without wasting any time, here we start our tutorial:
1. Registry Tweaks:
Following topic contains a few registry tweaks to optimize your system performance and add a few useful extras:

You just need to download the ZIP file, extract it and run the file. It'll ask for confirmation, accept it. Restart your system to take affect.
2. Right-click on Computer icon on Desktop and select Properties (or press WIN + Pause/Break keys). Now click on Advanced system settings link in left side pane (You can open it directly by giving sysdm.cpl command in RUN or start menu search box). Now click on Settings button in Performance section:

It'll open another window. Disable all unnecessary options in Visual Effects tab, you can leave following options enabled according to your requirements:

Enable Aero Peek (If you want to use Aero Peek feature)
Enable desktop composition (If you want to use Windows Aero theme)
Enable transparent glass (If you want to use transparency in Windows)
Show thumbnails instead of icons (If you want to show thumbnails in Explorer)
Show window contents while dragging (If you want windows to show contents while moving them)
Smooth edges of screen fonts (If you want to show smooth fonts)
Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop (If you want to show shadows under desktop icon labels)
Use visual styles on windows and buttons (If you want to use Windows Aero or Basic theme)

3. Open Windows Explorer and go to "Organize -> Folder and Search Options" and click on "View" tab.
Now disable following options:

Display file size information in folder tips
Hide extensions for known file types
Show encrypted or compressed NTFS files in color
Show pop-up description for folder and desktop items

4. Right-click on Computer icon on Desktop and select Manage (You can also open it directly by giving services.msc command in RUN or start menu search box).
Now go to Services & Applications -> Services. Here you can set a few unnecessary services to Manual, so that these services don't start automatically with Windows and you can get a faster startup.

5. Type msconfig in RUN or Startmenu search box and press Enter. Now go to Startup tab and disable unwanted startup entries. You can disable your graphics card's driver utility, Sound Card utility, etc to speed up the system startup and to increase system performance.

6. Open Sound applet in Control Panel (or type mmsys.cpl in RUN or Startmenu search box and press Enter). Now go to Sounds tab and select No Sounds from Sound Scheme section. You can keep some of your favorite sounds enabled but make sure to set Exit Windows, Windows Log off, Windows Logon and Start Navigation to (None).

Also disable "Play Windows Startup sound" option to disable the sound clip which is played at login screen.
7. Also don't forget to:

Defrag the hard disk regularly
Install only necessary software
Use the latest device drivers
Keep your Windows up-to-date

Windows 7 Services that can be Safely Set to MANUAL

1. Right-click on Computer icon on desktop and select Manage, it'll open a new window. Now go to Services & Applications -> Services. You can also open the same from Administrative Tools -> Computer Management. Or you can directly open "Services" list by providing services.msc command in RUN or Startmenu search box.

2. Now you can set the unnecessary services to DISABLED or MANUAL. Just double-click on any service and select the desired option in Startup type list box.

NOTE: Always set the service to MANUAL, never disable it, so that whenever Windows needs to start a service it can easily start and use it. If you set any service to DISABLED, Windows will not be able to start it and will give some error messages.

GodMode is a folder that brings together a long list of customization settings allowing you to change all your settings from one place. Neat huh? I've broken it down into five-step process to avoid confusion:

Step 1: Right click.
Step 2: Click create folder.
Step 3: Name your sparkly, new folder this, "GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}" and press enter.
Step 4: Blink as the folder changes form to look like the control panel.

Say Bye To Half-open TCP Connections Limit In Vista/2008 SP2

At May 6, 2009, In this article, Microsoft confirm that:
By default, the half-open TCP connections limit is disabled in Windows Server 2008 with Service Pack 2 (SP2) and in Windows Vista with Service Pack 2 (SP2).

Thank for this, my doubts about RateLimit long time ago has been solved by Microsoft's answer.

Last year, I found a case. In Vista, I can simply modify the value "TcpCreateAndConnectTcbRateLimitDepth" from 1 to 0 in the kernel memory, and then the Half-open TCP connections limit has been removed immediately!
But I am not sure whether this is a safe method. so, in tcp-z, this function never be active. TCP-Z only show this value.

After Vista 16670 and Windows 7 6956, Microsoft strangely set TcpCreateAndConnectTcbRateLimitDepth to 0 in default.
In latterly version of TCP-Z, it will show a lock icon to distinguish these difference.

Now, Microsoft answer: It's safe! and provide a simple modification method by registry.
When you add a registry entry "EnableConnectionRateLimiting", and set to 1 or 0, it will switch TcpCreateAndConnectTcbRateLimitDepth between 1/0 synchronously.
You can see the changes in the graph of TCP-Z.
After TcpCreateAndConnectTcbRateLimitDepth change to 1, Windows will calculate the create rate and do the limitation. In testing you can see the value is limited to 11.

This registry entry only works in Windows Server 2008 with SP2 / Windows Vista with SP2 / Window 7.

It is time to retire for me!

This tutorial has been created mainly for customization lovers. Many times you change Windows login screen background to your favorite wallpaper but the "Windows branding logo" which shows the installed Windows edition name, hides the bottom area of the wallpaper and annoys you like hell.
Today in this tutorial, we'll learn how to remove the "Windows branding logo" as well as "Ease of Access" button from login screen in Windows Vista and 7.

So here we start the tutorial:
1. First take ownership of "%windir%\System32\authui.dll" file and then open it in Resource Hacker.
Note: here %windir% represents "Windows" directory which can be found in the system drive where Windows is installed. In most of the cases its C:\Windows.
2. Now press "Ctrl+F" keys or select "Find Text" option from "View" menu.

3. To remove "Windows Branding Logo", type following string in the Find what text box:

Click on "Find Next" button and it'll go to following line as shown in the screenshot:

4. Replace the existing <element id="atom(Branding)"/> line with following one:

5. Now to remove "Ease of Access" button, search for button id="atom(Accessibility)" string similar to Step 3. It'll show you following line:

Simply change layoutpos="left" to layoutpos="none" so that it'll look like following:

6. That's it, click on "Compile Script" button and save the file. Now you'll not see the "Windows branding logo" and "Ease of Access" button on login screen.
PS: Windows Vista "authui.dll" file contains only a single instance of (Branding) and (Accessibility) strings, so you'll need to replace them only once using Step 4 and 5 but Windows 7 contains 3 instances of these strings, so you'll need to change all the 3 instances in the file.

Tired of the Aero Basic non-glass look of Windows 7 virtual machines? With a few steps you can extend the glass experience to all your Win7 virtual machines running on Windows Virtual PC.
First, after you have installed Windows 7 in your virtual machine you need to install the integration components. Click on Tools and then Install Integration Components.

Click through the installation on your virtual machine. After the virtual machine reboots, the final step involves enabling the integration components. Click on the Tools again and select Enable Integration Features.

After you type in the user name and password for the virtual machine you should see the Aero Glass interface. If for some reason you do not simply select an Aero Glass theme by right clicking on the desktop and selecting Personalize.

Step1: Back up the following registry keys so you can revert to the default XP style later. Click each key in the left pane of the registry editor and select File-Export. Choose a name to save each key as a 'reg' file.
